Made for the work
Everything your diagram needs. Nothing between you and the idea.
From a quick sketch to a board your team can use, the tools stay close and the canvas stays clear.
Diagramming
Shapes and connectors that stay readable
Start with rectangles, diamonds, ellipses, lines, and arrows — the building blocks of system diagrams, flowcharts, and architecture maps. Connectors stay attached as you move things around, so a sketch can grow into a diagram without turning into spaghetti. Stroke, fill, and width are a click away when you need the board to look finished.
Mixed media
Draw, type, and drop images onto the same board
Switch into freehand when a box is too rigid, drop text when a label needs to be exact, or drag an image straight onto the canvas. Screenshots, logos, and photos sit next to shapes instead of living in another tab. You can keep sketching around them, so a rough idea and a polished asset can share one surface.
Ideation
Sticky notes that remember when you wrote them
Park a thought without interrupting the diagram. Notes come from the overflow menu, land as yellow cards, and stamp the date they were created so a brainstorm still makes sense a week later. Use them for questions, decisions, and leftovers you do not want to lose in the margins.
Speed
Stay on the keyboard while you draw
Tools have single-key shortcuts, lock keeps the current tool after you finish a shape, and undo / redo, copy, cut, paste, and duplicate work the way you already expect. You can lay out a board without hunting through menus. When you do need the pointer, the rest of the chrome stays out of the way.
Arrange
Group, style, and stack without breaking the sketch
Select a cluster, then group it with ⌘G or the right-click menu so a service, a swimlane, or a whole region moves as one. Ungroup when you need the pieces back. Stroke, fill, fonts, opacity, and layer order live in the properties panel, so visual hierarchy is something you tune, not something you redraw.
Space
An infinite canvas with paper that feels like yours
Pan, zoom, and reset to 100% without leaving the board. Pick a paper color that matches the mood of the diagram — sand, mint, sky, rose, and more in light or dark — and switch appearance from the same menu. The canvas stays out of the way so the work, not the chrome, is what you see.
Persistence
Autosave so you can close the tab without a ritual
Boards write themselves as you work. Come back from the dashboard and the last shapes, notes, and camera position are still there. You do not have to remember to hit save before a meeting, and a refresh does not throw away a half-built diagram.
Portable
Export what you made, or bring a board back in
Download a PNG for a slide, SVG for a doc, or JSON if you want the whole board as a file. Import SketchFlow JSON onto a canvas when you are copying a template, moving between machines, or handing someone a starting point. The diagram is not trapped in the browser tab it was born in.
Collaboration
Share with roles instead of a public link and a prayer
Invite people as editor or viewer. Editors can draw and comment; viewers can read the board without rearranging it. Ownership stays with you, so a shared architecture sketch does not become a free-for-all. You decide who can change the work and who is only looking.
Feedback
Pin comments where the question actually is
Drop a pin on a box, an arrow, or an empty stretch of canvas and leave a note in context. Threads can be edited, resolved, or deleted, and resolved comments can be hidden so the board stays readable. Feedback lives on the diagram instead of in a chat scroll you will never find again.
Time travel
Version history you can name, restore, and trust
Save a named snapshot before a risky rewrite, restore an earlier board when the new layout is worse, and keep automatic checkpoints in the background. History is for diagrams that evolve over weeks, not just for undoing the last five minutes. You can always get back to the version that made sense.
Starting points
Templates to start faster than a blank page
Open a built-in architecture layout — system design, AWS, flowchart, schema, UML, and more — or save one of your own boards as a template for next time. A first shape is already on the canvas, so you spend the first minute editing instead of staring. Reuse the structures you already like.
Presentation slides
Turn any board into a presentation
Frame key parts of your canvas as ordered slides, choose transitions, and present full-screen. Navigate the sequence or open an overview to jump straight to the slide you need.
